Frequently asked questions
Who lists properties on LuxuryBroker.com?
Only licensed estate agents, brokers and authorised advisory firms with verifiable commercial activity. Private owners cannot list. Each listing links to the agent's profile with their location and, where provided, their company registration.
Does LuxuryBroker.com charge buyers a fee or commission?
No. Browsing, enquiries, search alerts and the Off-Market Desk are free for buyers, and LuxuryBroker.com takes no commission on any sale. Listing brokers pay a monthly fee per listing. Any fee for the broker's own services is agreed directly between you and the broker.
How do I arrange a viewing or request documents?
Use the contact form or the phone number on the listing. Your enquiry goes directly to the listing agent, who arranges viewings and provides floor plans, title information and other documents.
Can foreigners buy property in Switzerland?
Restrictions apply. Under the Lex Koller, people living abroad and certain foreign nationals living in Switzerland need a permit to buy residential property, and holiday homes are only possible in designated areas within cantonal quotas. EU/EFTA nationals resident in Switzerland and holders of a C permit buy on the same terms as Swiss citizens. A local lawyer or notary can confirm the rules for a specific property.
Which additional costs should I budget for?
Depending on the country, buyers typically pay transfer tax or stamp duty, notary and land registry fees and legal fees, and in some markets part of the agency fee. Together these can range from a few percent to more than 10% of the purchase price. Ask the listing agent and an independent advisor for the exact figures.
Are the listed prices final?
They are asking prices set by the agent and the seller. Offers and negotiations go through the listing agent. Some listings show "price on request", usually at the seller's wish for discretion.
Can I be notified about new properties?
Yes. On any category or search results page, choose "Get new listings for this search by email" and enter your email address. After you confirm, you receive at most one email per day when new matching listings go online, and you can stop it with one click.
What is the Off-Market Desk?
Many trophy properties change hands discreetly without public advertising. Through the Off-Market Desk, buyers can describe what they are looking for and owners can place an asset confidentially. The service is free of charge.
